The Sussex 2024 Now Open!

Sharing with you some snippets from opening night of The Sussex 2024. My piece, FUN! was selected to feature in the show and hung amongst 170 works from fellow Sussex artists (selected from 1,400 entries).

FUN! was in great company - there were so many amazing pieces and a huge mix of mediums, styles and approaches. Oh and FUN! was the front cover of the exhibition catalogue too!

The theme of this year’s exibition was duality and the artists’ interpretations of this theme was diverse - from tipping points to finding beauty in the discarded and ugly, and from night and day to the duality of rainbows. To name a few.

A must-see show in a great space, one that also emboidies duality itself. The gallery is located on the top floor of the East Sussex College (Newhaven) which is housed in a building consisting part original brick work of the old Marine Workshops and part glass frontage, making the structure feel like it has both always been there and as though it has seemingly been dropped from the sky onto the industrial harbour of Newhaven.
